How to Request a BIOS File

We don’t publish BIOS files on our support site. Updating BIOS incorrectly can corrupt the device and may render it unusable. To keep you safe and ensure you get the correct version, our team handles BIOS requests directly.

Please email your request to: support@gatewayusa.com

Include the following in your email:

  1. Model Number of your device

  2. Serial Number of your device

  3. Reason for the BIOS request

    • Example: “System won’t detect SSD,” “Need microcode update for CPU,” “POST errors after sleep,” etc.

  4. (Optional but helpful) Current BIOS version shown in BIOS setup or Windows System Information

  5. Proof of Purchase (if available)

Our support team will review your details, confirm the correct BIOS for your exact model/serial, and follow up with:

  • The appropriate BIOS file (if applicable), and

  • Step-by-step instructions or guidance for a safe update—or alternate repair steps if a BIOS update isn’t recommended.

Important: Do not attempt a BIOS update unless advised by our support team. An incorrect or interrupted update can permanently damage the system.

Requested BIOS update file through email and the AI assistant mistook the request for technical support regarding BIOS password issues (I don't even have a BIOS password set). My problem is that the laptop won't charge the battery and reports it as having 100% health)

    My laptop info is

    Model: GWTN156-11BK
    P/N: BL.9ESAG.354
    SN: 2GWTN15611BK3O21H001008
